Experiences of Cancer Genetic Counselors During the COVID-19 Pandemic - Student Research Survey
Dear Southern California Genetic Counselors,
You are invited to complete an online survey for a research study on the differences in experiences between cancer genetic counselors whose in-person, hybrid, or remote work environments remained or transitioned between March 11, 2020 and December 14, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This time frame reflects the period between the day the COVID-19 outbreak was declared a global pandemic and the day the United States COVID-19 vaccination program was launched.
You are eligible to participate in this study if you were:
1) Working as a genetic counselor with cancer as a primary specialty in the United States on March 11, 2020
AND
2) Engaging in direct patient care (either fully direct patient care or a mix of direct and nondirect patient care).
If you participate in this study, you will be asked questions about changes to your work environment and experiences as a cancer genetic counselor during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participation in this anonymous survey is voluntary and should take approximately 15-20 minutes. There is no compensation for participation in this study. There may be minimal discomfort in recalling memories of working during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Melodie Elyasian at melyasian20@students.kgi.edu.
