Southern California Genetic Counselors (SCGC) invites you to join us for our 8th Annual Education Conference!
The 2026 SCGC Annual Education Conference is a full-day event that will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2026 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA. This event is intended for genetic counselors, students and genetics healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals from a variety of settings, including academic centers, private entities, major healthcare systems, community-based services, clinical laboratories, industry and research. The conference highlights and shares expertise of genetic professionals in Southern California while providing a venue for collaboration and networking of genetics professionals in our region.
The conference presentations will also be broadcast LIVE via Zoom for those who register to attend virtually!
Registration
Registration will open in March. We will send an email to all SCGC members and post on our social media when registration is available for the 2026 AEC. Registrants will have the option to register to attend in-person or virtually with or without continuing education units (CEUs). Discounted tickets are available for SCGC members! Becoming a member is easy and FREE!
Registration is required to attend. Please get your tickets early! No refunds will be available.
Speaker Submissions
The call for speaker submissions is now open for our 2026 Annual Education Conference! We are looking for engaging, innovative, and informative presentations for the Southern California genetic counseling community. We especially welcome talks regarding advocacy and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). To submit a presentation proposal, fill out the submission form linked below.

Continuing Education Units
This event is being submitted to the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) for category 1 CEU approval. More information to come.
In order to claim CEUs for this event, you must purchase a registration ticket "with CEUs" and complete the post-conference survey.

This year's conference will be held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, located in Carlsbad, CA!

Parking: Parking will be offered at a discounted rate of $20 for conference attendees.
Accommodations

Indoor masking is strongly recommended for in-person attendees.

In-person attendees are encouraged to be up-to-date with current vaccination recommendations.

There is an option for virtual attendance for those who are not comfortable gathering in-person.

In the event that it is not safe to gather in-person or as local policies dictate, the meeting date and/or format may be subject to change.

In person attendees are encourage to take an at-home test before attending, and to attend virtually if they test positive or are ill.
