Southern California Genetic Counselors (SCGC) invites you to join us for our 7th Annual Education Conference!

 

The theme of the 7th AEC is "Lighting the Way: Navigating Uncertainty, Innovation and Collaboration." Please join us in shining a light on our fantastic line-up of speakers and presenters this year in the City of Industry!

 

The 2024 SCGC Annual Education Conference is a full-day event that will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, CA. This event is intended for genetic counselors, students and genetics healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals from a variety of settings, including academic centers, private entities, major healthcare systems, community-based services, clinical laboratories, industry and research. The conference highlights and shares expertise of genetic professionals in Southern California while providing a venue for collaboration and networking of genetics professionals in our region.

 

The conference presentations will also be broadcast LIVE via Zoom for those who register to attend virtually!

Registration

Registration is now closed. Registration is required to attend AEC and no day-of tickets are available. 

​

For all our registrants, you should have received an email confirmation after purchasing your AEC ticket. If you did not receive your ticket or have questions about y our registration, please contact our registration team at scgcreg@gmail.com

In-person attendees must present their tickets on entry. You can either print your ticket or present a digital copy on your mobile device.

​

Virtual attendees will be contacted by email with virtual event login information prior to May 3rd, 2024.

To receive continuing education units for the SCGC 7th Annual Education Conference, attendees must have purchased a ticket "with CEUs" and complete the post-conference evaluation form (link below).

 

The evaluation form will close at 5:00PM PDT on May 10th, 2024

Continuing Education Units

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Southern California Genetic Counselors  to offer up to 0.58 CEUs or 5.8 Category 1 contact hours for the activity SCGC Annual Education Conference 2024. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification.

 

In order to claim CEUs for this event, you must purchase a registration ticket "with CEUs" and complete the post-conference survey.

Research Poster & Platform Session

The submission window for research posters and platform sessions is now closed. The purpose of this session is for genetic counseling students and genetic counselors to share their research work with attendees. Eligible research projects are capstone/thesis projects or other research projects involving genetic counselors that are being conducted in the Southern California area.

This year's conference will be held at the Pacific Palms Resort, located in the heart of the City of Industry!

Parking: Onsite parking will be available and free for attendees.

Accommodations

A discounted room rate at the Pacific Palms Resort will be available on a first come, first serve basis for SCGC attendees. Please book prior to April 15th, 2024 to utilize the group rate.

COVID Policy*

  • Indoor masking is strongly recommended for in-person attendees.

  • In-person attendees are encouraged to be up-to-date with current vaccination recommendations.

  • There is an option for virtual attendance for those who are not comfortable gathering in-person.

  • In the event that it is not safe to gather in-person or as local policies dictate, the meeting date and/or format may be subject to change.

  • In person attendees are encourage to take an at-home test before attending, and to attend virtually if they test positive or are ill.
