August 28, 2020 is the 57th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech at the 1963 March on Washington. SCGC stands in solidarity with the racial justice movement in support of Black lives. It is crucial for all of our members to actively support the racial justice movement for all people of color, by actively supporting, protecting, and uplifting our community of color members in the fight for civil rights, beginning with efforts such as education, advocacy, and direct action. To assist your anti-racism work, we have compiled a (non-exhaustive) list of resources that may be helpful in your journey of unlearning and dismantling systemic racism within our professional networks and beyond. We owe it to our members of color, colleagues, patients, families, and communities at large to help create lasting change that fosters respect, equity and justice. Black Lives Matter.

We join NSGC in solidarity with the Black community against racism in all forms. To our members, colleagues, and the patients and families we serve, SCGC stands with you as we listen, reflect, and move forward together to seek positive cultural and systemic change.

As we all work towards a better future, we hope the following resources are helpful in supporting and educating our community:

We hope our SCGC members (as well as their family, friends, and colleagues) are remaining safe and healthy during these challenging times. In light of COVID-19 developments, SCGC is continuing to monitor updates to the Stay at Home order and to overall public health and safety. We will update our site with any additional updates regarding the Annual Education Conference. In an effort to support our members and community, we wanted to share the following resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic:
