SCGC volunteer opportunity- Community College outreach
Hello,
Happy 2022 from SCGC! We hope this message finds you in good spirits and good health. We are launching our first outreach event for the year and would love your help.
We have teamed up with the Genetic Counseling Prospective Student Network (GCPSN) to engage various community college student groups throughout SoCal and are organizing talks with these groups to introduce them to the field and answer any questions they may have. Our goal is to increase awareness of the genetic counseling career path to underrepresented student populations. We are seeking your help as a speaker for one these presentations.
If you are interested in assisting with this project, please fill out the sign-up sheet here: Community College Outreach Sign up. We would appreciate your response by Friday, 2/25/22.
We have prepared presentation materials and will be organizing a casual meeting to share these materials with you and answer your questions. If you would like further information, please feel free to follow up with either of us!
Thank you,
Lauren & Nydia

Hi Lauren,
This is exciting and very warranted outreach!
I wanted to inform you about a prospective genetic counseling free program Color is launching soon called the Genetic Counseling Immersive Program. Feel free to let any students know about this free program that will help individuals learn about the field, view several mock GC sessions and Journal Club presentations, and other webinars about basic and advanced genetic counseling topics. You can learn more and sign up for alerts for the program here: https://www.color.com/genetic-counseling-programs-at-color. Feel free to also contact me directly with any questions about this program at kellyt@color.com
