Genetics in the Digital Age: Expansions in Diagnosis, Treatment, and Social Response

Thank you for joining us at the 2nd Annual SCGC Annual Education Conference

This free full-day conference is developed as a learning experience for genetic counselors and genetics healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. The conference highlights and shares expertise of genetic professionals in Southern California. It also provides a venue for collaboration and networking of genetics professionals in our region and beyond.

Target Audience

The conference is designed to meet the needs of genetic counselors, physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals who specialize in medical genetics and genomics.
Learning Objectives

Provide the latest clinical information on various genetics specialties to support and enhance genetic counselors’ current practice.

Identify recent advancements in genetic testing and treatment of genetic disorders.

Discuss ethical issues of genetic testing and counseling, including in areas of variant reporting, direct-to-consumer testing, and genome editing.
Continuing Education Units
The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Southern California Genetic Counselors (SCGC) to offer up to 0.5 CEUs or 5 Category 1 contact hours for the activity Southern California Genetic Counselors 2nd Annual Education Conference. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification.
To claim CEUs, the following are needed from:
1) Payment of $25 at the time of online registration.
2) Sign-in at the conference as proof of attendance.
3) Completion of the post conference survey (https://forms.gle/3GYYuuYwtz5kLjHY7).This link will become live on the day of the conference. The survey is due by June 21st. Late surveys will not be considered for CEUs.

NSGC now requires collection of your NSGC ID in order to grant CEUs. If you have an NSGC account, you can find this ID by logging into your NSGC account. If you do not already have an NSGC account, you can create one for free by clicking here. You are required to provide the ID at the time of registration, if you plan to claim CEUs.

Complimentary parking is available for conference attendees. For access to parking for the conference, enter the 18 Permit Only Lot (do NOT enter Parking Structure 18) from Le Conte Ave between Tiverton Ave and Westwood Blvd. Pick up a parking pass from an attendant at the lot entrance between the hours of 7am to 9am. Geffen Hall is adjacent to the entrance of the parking lot and registration will be located just outside the building main entrance.
