The conference is a free, full-day, virtual event that will showcase innovative topics and engaging speakers from the SoCal region and beyond.  This event is intended for genetic counselors and genetics healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals from a variety of settings, including academic centers, private entities, major healthcare systems, community-based services, clinical laboratories, industry and research.  The conference format will provide attendees with the opportunity to earn CEUs and collaborate/network with other genetic professionals in our region.  While this event will be held on a virtual platform, the event will occur in real-time with the ability for attendees to interact with one another, event speakers and sponsors via live chats.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the latest clinical information on various genetics specialties to support and enhance genetic counselors' current practice. 

  2. Compare new access and service delivery models to enhance GC efficiency and practice at top of scope

  3. Discuss current ethical and advocacy issues within the field of GC, including in areas of political advocacy, sponsored testing programs, and ethnicity based carrier screening.

Continuing Education Units

Access to Post Conference and other SCGC surveys are now available. 

Post Conference Survey must be completed by 5:00pm PST on Friday, September 11 to claim CEU.

This event has been submitted to the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and approved for up to 6 contact hours of NSGC-approved category 1 CEUs (0.6 CEUs).

​

If you are claiming CEUs, please note that you must register by Monday, August 10 in order to claim CEUs. After this date, you may still register for the conference, but you will not be eligible to claim CEUs. 

 

NSGC now requires collection of your NSGC ID in order to grant CEUs. If you have an NSGC account, you can find this ID by logging into your NSGC account. If you do not already have an NSGC account, you can create one for free by clicking here. You are required to provide the ID at the time of registration, if you plan to claim CEUs.
