Interested in Mentorship?

Join the SCGC JEDI Mentorship Program as a Mentor

Just 2–5 hours of your time can help shape someone’s future.

The SCGC JEDI Mentorship Program is a flexible, on-demand initiative designed to expand equitable access to mentorship within the genetic counseling community. We support prospective and current genetic counseling students from disadvantaged and historically marginalized backgrounds by connecting them with mentors who can offer targeted guidance, encouragement, and support.

We invite you to join us as a mentor and share your experience with the next generation of genetic counselors. Participation is designed to fit your availability, whether through a one-time conversation, a few hours of support, or short-term mentorship around a specific need.

Your time, knowledge, and perspective can make a meaningful difference for someone navigating their path into or through the profession. By becoming a mentor, you can help make mentorship more accessible while contributing to a more inclusive, diverse, and culturally responsive future for genetic counseling.

Interested in making an impact? Complete the SCGC JEDI Mentorship Program Mentor Interest Form and join our mentor network.

SCGC Fun Run

On Saturday, September 26, we hosted our second annual fun run at the Quail Hill Community Park and Loop Trail. We had a great turn out of both students and full members. The weather was beautiful, but the connections and time spent together was really the highlight of the day. Together, we raised over $600 to go toward our prospective student scholarship recipients. Thank you to all that participated!

If you were not able to join us for the fun run this year, but still want to donate to the scholarship fund, you can visit our donation page to make a contribution: Donate here!
