Doctorate for genetic counselors
Many allied healthcare professionals have doctorate degrees rather than Masters degrees, including audiologists and physical therapists. A number of years ago, there was a NSGC task force established to look at the issues. It was a stacked committee that went no where. I think this is a good time to revisit the issue. Please contact me if you interested in revisiting the issue. I understand that this is a huge undertaking for the profession which may takes years to institute if at all. Currently, I am asking for genetic counselors who are interested in doing the due diligence it will take to even set up at task force. Thank you, Michelle
